Research

These videos have been helpful for me in understanding stop motion techniques better, I find the making of the puppets an interesting process, although our puppets will not be made of latex some of the techniques used could be useful when we make Nut and Bolt.

Audio

I've been working on the audio for our animatic, can't decide if there should be dynamic noises in aswell as the music, it sounds nice with just music playing through the whole clip. We also have a few choices for the music, I like the piano version as it suits the mood of our story. I am having trouble uploading the audio files to my blog but will keep trying.

Making of The BoxTrolls

I watched the Making of video for the Box Trolls, it is a long video but worth the watch, it gave me an idea as to how big companies make something like stopmotion a plausible way to produce a feature length film. I am more appreciative of the amount of work that goes into these types of movies.

Storyboard

Malcolm and I both worked on the storyboard, with me drawing and outlining the main composition and Malcolm detailing eachframe

The Snowman BDM103

The Snowman, By Kelly Wilson was involved in a copyright infringement case when Disney's Frozen trailer was released and showed parallels to the short animated film. Because of this case Disney had been unable to start the production of Frozen's sequel. The case was dismissed without prejudice in June of this year with Disney deciding to settle the case outside of court with undisclosed terms.

This wool is for Nut's planet, the yellow will be underneath, showing bursts of colour while the majority of her planet will be made from the purple ball of wool.

These colours are for the tree on Nut's planet

This is the colour pallet for Nut, she will be multicoloured with a white dress and blue hair.
